SAVING GENERAL YANG conquers the Singapore box office!

SAVING GENERAL YANG has grossed an impressive S$1.2 million at the Singapore box office making it the highest grossing Chinese movie (non-Chinese New Year) of the year overtaking THE GRANDMASTER.

SAVING GENERAL YANG was released on 4 April and is currently playing on 28 screens. SAVING GENERAL YANG, which has an official budget of US$26 million, returns veteran action star Adam Cheng to the big screen after an absence of two decades. He plays the legendary Northern Han general Yang Ye who defended the Song Dynasty's borders from the Khitan warriors of the Liao Dynasty in the 10th century.

The story is set in 986 A.D., during another Khitan invasion, when Yang's army is surrounded by much larger forces and abandoned by political rivals. His loyal seven sons, each a skilled warrior, set out to rescue him and bring him back home with vengeful Liao General Yelu Yuan in pursuit. The seven brothers are played by a pan-Chinese cast from Hong Kong (Ekin CHENG, Raymond LAM ), Taiwan (Vic CHOU, WU Chun) and China (YU Bo, LI Chen, FU Xinbo). Award-winning Mainland actress XU Fan plays General Yang's capable wife.
