The much anticipated Jackie Chan’s action blockbuster CZ12 (十二生肖) DVD is set to be released on 7 March at all video stores and selected 7-Elevens! This movie is Jackie Chan’s all-time best-selling movie in Singapore, posting a current total box office gross of close to S$5 million.

International superstar Jackie Chan’s action blockbuster CZ12 has broken the all-time record for an Asian Movie (excluding local titles) in Singapore! The movie has collected a staggering S$4.67 million in 22 days (20th Dec ? 10th Jan) after it opened on 44 screens island-wide.

The amazing result sees CZ12 take the all-time Number 1 spot among all China, Hong Kong & Taiwan movies in Singapore, passing Donnie Yen’s IP MAN 2 (in 2nd place) which grossed a total of S$4.66 million in 2010 and Stephen Chow’s action comedy KUNGFU HUSTLE (in 3rd place) which grossed S$4.33 million.

CZ12 is also Jackie Chan’s all time best selling movie in Singapore, besting his previous records held by Hollywood production KARATE KID which grossed $4.6 million in 2010 and THE STORY OF CIA FIRST STRIKE which grossed S$3.8million.

With this result, CZ12 is now also one of the Top 10 highest grossing movies released in 2012, beating HUNGER GAMES which grossed S$4.6million. This marks the first time since 2006 that there are 2 Asian movies within the Top 10 highest grossing movies for that year.

Jackie Chan’s latest action blockbuster CZ12 《十二生肖》 has broken his own box office record in Singapore after collecting a stunning S$1.35 million over the 4-day opening weekend (20th Dec to 24th Dec) with a total of 44 screens island-wide!

CZ12 took the number one spot at the box office chart in Singapore over the weekend, beating the Hollywood blockbuster THE HOBBIT in its 2nd weekend. The spectacular opening weekend result also breaks Jackie Chan’s own previous record as the biggest opening weekend for his Chinese movies in Singapore ever.

CZ12 not only topped the local box office in Singapore over the weekend, but also in Malaysia and China. In China, the movie broke RMB$100mil over the opening weekend! International superstar Jackie Chan will be bringing his latest action blockbuster CZ12 (aka CHINESE ZODIAC 2012) to Festive Grand™ Theatre at Resorts World®Sentosa for the CZ12 Singapore Gala Premiere on 18 December! CZ12 is the first Chinese movie to hold a red carpet event and premiere screening at the 1400-seater Festive Grand™ Theatre.

Resorts World® Sentosa is bringing in similar digital server and projector that mainstream cinema exhibitors are using for the screening to ensure that the audience can enjoy the same audio and visual effects in the Festive Grand™ Theatre.

Audience at the gala premiere will also find two bronze dragon statues at each side of the stage, in the Festive Grand™ Theatre, which blend perfectly into the whole theme for the CZ12 Singapore Gala Premiere.

JACKIE CHAN to promote his new action blockbuster CHINESE ZODIAC in Singapore

International superstar Jackie Chan will be in Singapore on 18 December to promote his upcoming action blockbuster CZ12 (aka CHINESE ZODIAC 2012)! Singapore will be one of his stops for the 2-weeks Asia-wide movie promotional tour.

Directed by and starring Jackie Chan, CZ12 took 7 years to prepare and 1 year to shoot with a production budget of US$50 million. The film was wrapped in May earlier this year and the first trailer premiered at Cannes Film Festival in the same month. CZ12 will open Asia-wide in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, etc, on 20 December.

Jackie Chan describes, “During every stunt I did in the movie, I wondered if that was my last sequence.”

In order to ensure that the best actions are caught for the movie, the production crew took at least 3 months to film a 4-minute “flying sequence” in the movie. Jackie Chan even filmed that scene without any wires support. Besides him, CZ12 also features well-known Korean actor Kwone Sang Woo with special appearances by Hollywood veteran actor Oliver Platt and Taiwanese veteran songwriter Jonathan Lee.
