Canadian writer, director, editor and producer Jean-Marc Vallée has died suddenly at age 58 apparently of a heart attack. The filmmaker passed away at his cabin outside Quebec City, Canada on Christmas Day.
He was known for his naturalistic approach to filmmaking and for working with strong female leads including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Meryl Streep.
In 2013, he directed the Oscar-winning film Dallas Buyers Club which won Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto an Oscar each. May Mr Vallee rest in peace.
