Johann Johannsson, the Icelandic composer died in Berlin on Friday. He was 48 years old.
Known for blending electronic with classical orchestrations, Johannsson is best for working with director Denis Villeneuve on Prisoners, Sicario and Arrival although Johannsson left Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049 during production.
The Icelandic musician and producer also won a Golden Globe for his score to the 2014 Stephen Hawking biopic, The Theory of Everything starring Eddie Redmayne
Johannsson's last scores will be Marsh's The Mercy, which opened here on 1 March and "Mary Magdalene" starring Rooney Mara for director Garth Davis.
He is survived by his parents, sisters and daughter.
