LONG LONG TIME AGO 2 has grossed $865,000 during its opening weekend from 31st March to 3rd April to surpass Part 1's $680,000 during the Chinese New Year opening weekend.
“We are very pleased with the box office results. We never expected that the opening weekend box office for part 2 will do better than part 1. We hope that the movie will continue to do well and people from all ethnic and age groups will support our movie.” says director Jack Neo.

In response to public demand, Golden Village will also be holding LONG LONG TIME AGO Movie Marathon sessions from 22 to 24 April 2016 at GV Plaza, GV Yishun, GV Tampines and GV Jurong Point. Ticket sales for the Marathon sessions commence 7 April 2016.

LONG LONG TIME AGO 2, the sequel to the Chinese New Year hit, is set to hit the big screens on 31st March, with special sneak previews over the long weekend from 24th to 27th March! Directed by local director Jack Neo, the first part of LONG LONG TIME AGO was released during Chinese New Year and has grossed SGD $4.1 million after 6 weeks in the cinemas.

LONG LONG TIME AGO 2 continues to tell the story of Zhao Di’s family; after the nationwide flood, Zhao Di takes over her father’s family farm. As the country develops, the Government begins expropriating land for redevelopment, forcing villagers to move out from their kampongs. The movie will showcase people’s reaction for the big move and when kampongs are demolished, will the friendship and relationship of people still remains the same?

LONG LONG TIME AGO TOPS THE BOX OFFICE CHART OVER THE CHINESE NEW YEAR OPENING WEEKEND!
Local director Jack Neo’s kampung-themed movie LONG LONG TIME AGO《我们的故事》 tops the box office chart with SGD$ 1.65 million over the 6-day Chinese New Year long opening weekend! LONG LONG TIME AGO was released islandwide last Thursday 4th February on 59 screens.

LONG LONG TIME AGO stars an ensemble of local veteran artistes including MediaCorp’s Aileen Tan, famous presenter-actor Mark Lee, well-known getai celebrity Wang Lei and Malay actor Suhaimi Yusof, etc. Besides the leading cast, popular actors from AH BOYS TO MEN franchise Tosh and Wang Wei Liang; veteran actor Henry Thia and Li Feihui also play cameo roles in the movie.
The movie follows the trials and tribulations of a family from 1965 to the early 1970s. Their journey through the years from their humble kampong to a modern HDB flat, runs in parallel with Singapore’s early growth.

Highly anticipated Chinese New Year movie LONG LONG TIME AGO 《我们的故事》 by local director Jack Neo finally unveils its official trailer! LONG LONG TIME AGO tells a story from 1965 to early 1970s, following the protagonist of the story, Zhao Di (plays by Aileen Tan), and her family as they journey through the years from Kampong to HDB, which parallels with Singapore’s early growth as a nation. With Zhao Di’s indomitable spirit, and with the help of her family, they went through adversities, witnessed the changes through the years, and accompanied every step of the nation’s growth in its early years.
