Popular Taiwanese actor Mark Chao, together with renowned TV series director Tsai Yueh-hsun will be in Singapore on 1st October to promote their latest action movie BLACK AND WHITE: THE DAWN OF JUSTICE (痞子英雄:黎明再起)
BLACK AND WHITE: THE DAWN OF JUSTICE is the latest installment of the successful “BLACK AND WHITE 痞子英雄“ police-themed franchise which started off as a TV series in 2009 followed by the first movie BLACK AND WHITE: THE DAWN OF ASSAULT in 2012. Lead actor Mark Chao shot to fame when he won the “Best Leading Actor” at the 44th Golden Bell Awards for his role in the popular TV series.
With a production budget of TWD $60 million (approx. SGD $3 million), besides Mark Chao (from MONGA, LOVE and YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE: RISE OF THE SEA DRAGON), the movie also stars an ensemble of stellar cast including up and coming actor Lin Gengxin (from TV series SCARLET HEART and YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE: RISE OF THE SEA DRAGON), well-known veteran actor Huang Bo (JOURNEY TO THE WEST) and Taiwanese actress Janie Chang. Local actor Christopher Lee , who recently starred in popular Taiwan’s TV series A GOOD WIFE, also played a cameo role in the movie.
BLACK AND WHITE: THE DAWN OF JUSTICE tells the story of how the duo Wu Ying Xiong (acted by Mark Chao) and Chen Zhen (acted by Lin Gengxin) overcome their differences to save the city where a series of sudden bomb explosions are happening. Facing the unprecedented crisis, the two men have to overcome conflicting personalities to reverse the situation. BLACK AND WHITE: THE DAWN OF JUSTICE will be released in Singapore on 9th October with sneak previews from 3rd October onwards.
