SHOCK WAVE COLLECTS A STUNNING $1 MILLION AFTER A MERE 12 DAYS IN CINEMAS

SHOCK WAVE (拆弹专家) is Andy Lau’s best-selling movie, outside of Chinese New Year, over the last 6 years! Produced and starred Asian superstar Andy Lau, SHOCK WAVE has performed fantastically in Singapore, collecting a stunning SGD $1 million at the box office after showing in cinemas for a mere 12 days!

Since its release on 20th April, the movie has faced strong competition from blockbusters including FAST AND FURIOUS 8, MARVEL’S GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 and BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION.

This amazing result puts SHOCKWAVE in second place among Andy Lau’s Asian movies for the last 6 years. Chinese New Year movie FROM VEGAS TO MACAU III, which was released in February last year, tops the chart with SGD $2.4 million. 

SHOCKWAVE tells the story of JS Cheung (Andy Lau), a Superintendent in Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau (EOD) of Hong Kong Police Force, went undercover seven years ago into the gang led by the most-wanted crime boss Blast (Jiang Wu). Cheung successfully uprooted the gang and arrested a few robbers including Blast’s younger brother Biao. However, Blast was on the loose and he swore he’d be back for revenge. Seven years have passed and Blast kick starts his plan ? a series of bomb attacks have sparked fear among Hong Kong citizens. To maintain law and order, Cheung must put Blast behind bars and he is ready to sacrifice his life to fight a tough battle with the ruthless bomber.
