TF3 takes the crown as the biggest 5-day weekend opener of all time!

You, yes you, you who paid $10 over the weekend to watch TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON, or $14 in 3D, or better still $22 in IMAX 3D. You are responsible creating a little bit of history. Last weekend, DOTM has become thebiggest 5-day weekend opener of all-time by grossing S$5.1 million in ticket sales and grossing over S$1 million per day for three consecutive days in a row!

The movie has also secured the top two positions on the single day ticket sales chart within its first weekend. UIP currently commands the top 5 positions with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen holding the 3rd and 5th spots and Kung Fu Panda 2 at the 4th spot.

Mr. Nicholas Yong, Managing Director of the film’s local distributing arm, United International Pictures (Singapore & Malaysia) said, “It is truly an amazing and unbelievable feat for a film that had opened right outside of the school holidays! The 3D and IMAX bookings were through the roof and the weekend was sold out. This film was made, shot and meant to be enjoyed in 3D to get the optimum and best of the effects. We have heard of so many people watching the film multiple times as they had done for the first two installments!”
