THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN go head to head!

With North American audiences never more far out of reach from Hollywood studios than before (just see the record lows the box office has been hitting in recent months), both Warner Bros and Sony went head to head with new teaser posters of their 2012 summer blockbusters. 

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is Christopher Nolan's followup to his critical and commercial hit THE DARK KNIGHT, and he as well as star Christian Bale have made it in no uncertain terms that this will be their last outing in the Batman franchise. The new poster with Bane's back shot resembles the one of The Joker which debuted for THE DARK KNIGHT, but this time, it's clear the stakes are higher as the Batman mask is seen strewn on the ground. 

THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN is Sony's reboot of the lucrative Marvel franchise which supposedly ended with Sam Raimi's disappointing SPIDERMAN 3. So turning to a new director (Marc Webb) and a new star (Andrew Garfield), there are high hopes riding on this reboot.
