THE GREAT WALL CLIMBS TO S$2.2 MILLION AT THE LOCAL BOX OFFICE
UIP is pleased to share that THE GREAT WALL has hit more than 2.2 million for its local weekend box office as of 2 Jan 2017. That easily makes it the #1 biggest opening weekend for a Zhang Yimou film, and the #1 biggest opening weekend for a Matt Damon film, beating out INTERSTELLAR, JASON BOURNE and THE MARTIAN!
In China, the movie has also cumed close to US$150 million, and currently has a larger total box-office gross than other local pics SEE YOU TOMORROW and RAILROAD TIGERS.
