THE SONGS WE SANG (我们唱着的歌), the well-received xinyao documentary which premiered at the 26th Singapore International Film Festival 2015, is finally opening in Singapore on 24th March in 5 exclusive Golden Village Cinemas!

Xinyao documentary THE SONGS WE SANG is the debut feature documentary of Singaporean director Eva Tang. The film drew rave reviews when it premiered at the 26th Singapore International Film Festival, and many are looking forward to its theatrical release.

THE SONGS WE SANG traces the germination and flowering of a unique homegrown movement. The documentary is a nostalgic journey through an important chapter of Singapore’s cultural history, as told by the composers and performers who became the voices of their generation. These include key xinyao figures like Liang Wern Fook, Eric Moo, Billy Koh and many more. The film also features Singaporean pop stars like JJ Lin and Stefanie Sun sharing their views on how xinyao paved the way for their emergence.
