SYNOPSIS:

You've got an all-access pass to the exciting life of a celebrity in HANNAH MONTANA: POP STAR PROFILE! Relive Hannah's drama when another big star comes on the scene and shakes things up. Plus, meet Miley Cyrus's real-life family and experience Hannah live in concert!

MOVIE REVIEW:

TV series like that have a strong influence on young viewers. Look at what the characters in High School Musical have turned young kids into. Look at how TV personalities like Lizzie McGuire and Raven have turned countless kids into fans. There are also real life celebrities like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, but we are sure the House of Mouse wouldn’t endorse them as much as the more wholesome personalities like Hannah Montana.

Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) leads a normal life like any other teenager. However, she leads a double life – she’s also a popular singer Hannah Montana. She lives with her father who doubles up as her artiste manager and nerdy brother Jackson. Like any other teenager, she has best friends in school and faces problems like crushes, jealousy and the biggest one of them all, love. This DVD contains four episodes from the hit Disney Channel series: “The New Kid in School”, “More Then a Zombie to Me”, “Good Golly Miss Molly” (watch out for Dolly Parton in this one), and “People Who Use People”.

These four episodes revolve around Jake Ryan, a famous TV actor, who joins Miley’s school and catches everyone’s attention. Miley gets irritated initially but begins to to see another side of Jake Ryan and a little crush develops. Of course, this develops into a romance, which isn’t very surprising, if you ask us.

Each of these episodes have its fair share of laughs, and in true sitcom manner, they are genuinely quite funny. When there is canned laughter in the background, you can’t help but chuckle along too. Besides, it does not hurt that these jokes have a nice youthful charm to them. Each of these episodes also has a side story about Miley’s father and brother who normally spend time goofing around and sabotaging each other. These light hearted gags are perfect for a boring weekend afternoon for the bored teenager.

Miley Cyrus is Disney Channel’s next big thing; remember seeing her at the Academy Awards earlier this year? We recall her countless fans screaming at the red carpets, and we are also quite sure she is good influence for the kids at home – just make sure she does not follow Ms. Spears or Ms. Lohan’s paths into downward spiral. Our advice to Ms. Cyrus: Make good friends, star in wholesome movies, fall in love with a clean cut boy, and you’d make it big.

SPECIAL FEATURES :

This Code 3 DVD contains a feature “The Real Miley Cyrus”, where the starlet’s family members are interviewed on what she’s really like – nothing scandalous or juicy here. There is also a music video “Nobody’s Perfect” performed by the energetic singer. Included in the disc are Previews of other Disney products like the 101 Dalmatians DVD.

AUDIO/VISUAL:

The disc’s visual transfer is fine, and there are 2.0 Stereo English, Mandarin, Spanish and Portuguese audio tracks to choose from.
